Teen Pregnancy

I could write a lecture you about how teen pregnancy can be a burden and how hard it is to raise a kid but, really how many times have to heard this from our parents, teachers, and maybe even our friends. So instead of lecturing you about things you have heard about millions of times why not list some things that you can think about.

  • Babies need you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year!

Are you ready for that?

  • Babies cost alot of $M$O$N$E$Y$!

Can you afford to provide for your child?

I could probably list millions of questions for you to think about but, that would just get you annoyed so I wouldn't, but remember choosing to get pregnant is a choice not a mistake.

How To Avoid Pregnancy

  • Abstinence- It is the only 100% way to not get pregnant.

  • Contraception- There are different types of contraception such as the birth control pill or patch, condoms, spermicides, and many others.

  • Saying "NO"- If you feel that you aren't ready then, always feel confrotable to saying," No."

If you think you know everything there is to know about how to avoid sexual intercourse. Take this test that puts you in situations where you need to decide what to do.

Statistics

  • One million teens in the USA will become pregnant over the next twelve months.

(Ninety-five percent of those pregnancies are unintended. About one third will end in abortion; one third will end in a miscarriage; and one third will continue their pregnancy to term and keep their baby.)

  • More than half of them are 17 years old or younger when they have their first pregnancy.
  • Approximately 40 percent of young women become pregnant before they reach 20 years old.
  • Less than one-third of teens who have babies before the age of 18 finish high school.
  • Almost half of all teen mothers end up on welfare.
  • Less than 25 percent of births to teens occur within wedlock.
